A Tennessee summer is filled with beauty and fun, but if we’re honest we’ll also say that it’s hot and it’s humid. The higher elevations of the Smoky Mountains offer cooler temperatures throughout the summer months and you’ll find plenty of attractions throughout the area that include water and AC. However, nothing compares to a day packed for fun in the sun at Dollywood’s Splash Country! Here are just a few of the top reasons that you’ll want to add a visit to Tennessee’s most loved waterpark to your Smokies itinerary!

It’s Fun for All Ages!

“Tons of fun and great for the whole family!” is how one TripAdvisor user described her experience at Dollywood’s Splash Country. It’s just one of the many 5/5 reviews that you’ll find listed, and after one trip to the park, we’re certain that you’ll agree! Thrill seekers will get their kicks as they take an exhilarating trip down Fire Tower Falls, the tallest and fastest slides in the park! The little ones will love their time splashing and playing in Little Creek Falls, a spot that even offers canopies that can be reserved for families wanting a break from the sun. Ripley’s may have brought sharks to the Smokies, but Dolly has brought the ocean waves to Tennessee! Families and friends will enjoy catching the waves in the 25,000-square-foot wave pool that’s free of sand and jellyfish! Providing unforgettable fun in the sun for everyone is one of the top goals for the staff at Dollywood’s Splash Country. However, guests having a safe experience is their top goal though and that is why the park is filled with lifeguards that have received the highest degree of swimmer protection so you’re definitely in safe hands while soaking up the summertime fun!

Dolly Days are Always Great!

Our most beloved songbird of the Smokies has poured her passion for life, adventure, the beauty of the mountains and love of Appalachian culture into our community. Dolly Parton has always truly been a reflection of what it means to be ‘rooted in the Smokies’ and that’s certainly that we can relate to at The Lodge at Five Oaks. Our roots go just as deep into the hills and we can’t help but love all that she does as well! Dollywood’s Splash Country is the perfect destination to combine with some of Dolly’s other wonderful attractions. While you’re in town to check out the new Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show and then take the kiddos to the waterpark the following day and practice your best pirate voices as you ride the waves. Until August 4th you’ll have the opportunity to participate in the annual Summer Celebration that includes extended park hours, live entertainment and nightly fireworks. If you were looking for a reason to take off on a last minute escape to the mountains before school starts back, that’s a good one! Not only is Dollywood next door to Splash Country, but the parks offer excellent options for multi-day Flex Tickets. To get the best bargain for your money, especially if you visit often, consider purchasing a season pass for both. You’ll be able to enjoy the pass for the waterpark until September 2nd, but Dollywood has non-stop fun going on until January 4th!

Life is Best When Filled with Adventures!

While visiting the Smoky Mountains, you’ll have plenty of time to relax at our hotel. However, when you’re not kicked back in your guest room, munching on afternoon cookies or soaking up the sun by our pool, you should fill your trip with as much adventure as possible! Climb to one of the highest peaks in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, go horseback riding at the Five Oaks Riding Stables next door to our hotel. Zip down the zipline before heading back down the hill and even book a rafting trip on the Pigeon River. Fill your days with adventures, just make sure that a day at Dollywood’s Splash Country is on the list! The park is one of the top rated attractions in the area and has everything you need for a day filled with doses of your adrenaline pumping and laughing with your loved ones. Summer only lasts so long and the days are moving right along. Make the most of some of the best days of the year! If not, when winter rolls around and snow is on the ground, you’ll be wishing that you had taken a trip down the Big Bear Plunge, their Raging River Rapids or on Tennessee’s first and only water coaster, the RIverRush!
