You’ll feel as if you traveled back in time to the days when Elvis Presley was strutin’ it on stage and producing groundbreaking musical recordings when you walk inside of Sun Diner! This new Gatlinburg restaurant pays homage to the incredible musical heritage of Nashville and Sun Records with an interior lined with photographs of many legendary musicians who recorded at Sun Records like Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. Vintage decor adds to an ambiance full of the same contagious energy and creativity that turned Nashville into the musical capital of the world!
It’s only right you eat like The King while at Sun Diner! An extensive list of home cooked Southern classics is sure to leave you with a smile on your face and put you in a dancing mood! Sun Diner serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. “Let’s Do The Twist” Creme Brulee French Toast, Hangover Biscuits and Gravy, chicken and waffles, and fluffy pancakes make excellent breakfast choices! Lunch and dinner options include classics like country fried steak, juicy burgers, hot turkey and gravy and savory meatloaf.

Sun Records was founded in 1952 by Sam Phillips in Memphis, Tennessee. Sun Records and its stable of talented musicians were responsible for helping shape the genres of rock and roll and rockabilly!
Sun Records broke onto the national scene in 1954 when a young Elvis released the song “That’s All Right”. Elvis fused the blues, country and R&B in a new style of music never before heard! With the release of “Mystery Train” and “Blue Moon of Kentucky”, Elvis became a household name, serving as proof of Sun Records’ reputation as a record label producing groundbreaking hits!
Johnny Cash signed with Sun Records in 1955 and recorded hits like “I Walk the Line” and “Folsom Prison Blues”. Other artists like Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Roy Orbison were associated with Sun Records.
About Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar
Sun Diner is located on the first floor of Jason Aldean’s building on the Gatlinburg Parkway, between Ole Smoky Barrelhouse and Ben & Jerry’s. Sun Diner is set to become the first part of Jason Aldean’s restaurant to open in Gatlinburg.
Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar is scheduled to open at a later date in the same building as Sun Diner. Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar will combine food, picturesque views and live music all in a special setting with a rooftop patio featuring spectacular views of Gatlinburg!
